As crucial parts of the startup ecosystem, it is important that questions of transparency, redress and fairness do not come at the expense of startups and internet consumers. Startups need a seat at the policy table to avoid unintended consequences that could reduce diversity and quality for consumers, and increase compliance costs for platforms.
