Startups and scaleups live and flourish in ecosystems of talent (entrepreneurs & employees, mentors), investors (angel investors, venture capital firms, crowdfunding, etc), support organisations (incubators, accelerators, startup associations, hubs, etc), users, universities, governments, and corporations. Startup ecosystems have a positive impact on society and the economy. They contribute to various areas from job creation, open economy, and sustainability to environmental innovation and health.
At Allied for Startups, we believe that entrepreneurs and policy makers alike can profit from a closer bond. This is why over a year ago, we set out to bring together Europe’s brightest innovators and policy makers in the European Parliament in an intergroup that would cut across political colours and committees.
To establish a closer dialogue and deep collaboration between Europe’s innovative communities and policy makers, we have decided to launch an extra-parliamentary club for MEPs and startup entrepreneurs – The Rocket Club!
The Rocket Club unites support from more than 50 Members of the European Parliament and is built on the mission to promote startups and scaleups in the European Union and foster cooperation between startup entrepreneurs and policy makers. To achieve this, we will invite startup entrepreneurs to the European Parliament to discuss issues including innovation, entrepreneurship, technology at large and make a contribution to fact-based policymaking. By the end of the mandate, we want every MEP to know at least 3 startups from their own constituency.
Expect to hear from the Rocket Club shortly!
