press release

PRESS RELEASE [Lisbon, 3rd November 2021, contact: ines@alliedforstartups.org] Allied for Startups welcomes the European Startup Nations Alliance (ESNA), the monitoring body of the Startup Nations Standard (SNS) and encourages Member States to construct independent and transparent governing bodies with a clearly defined role for startup organisations.

In March of 2021, we welcomed the release of the Startup Nations Standard (SNS). The SNS is a list of proven 8 best practices 25 EU Member States signed up to. Now Member States should adopt them all in order to become `Startup Nations’. It includes practices such as Stock Option reform and Startup Visas, which are priorities of Allied for Startups.

Speaking about the release, Benedikt Blomeyer, EU Policy Director at Allied for Startups said: “An independent and transparent governing body will give ESNA the legitimacy to ensure that EU Member States are implementing the 8 Standards of Excellence.”

Allied for Startups will continue to constructively cooperate with the European Commission to give startups in Europe the best growth perspectives.
