Will the next Big Tech emerge from Europe? Last week, we kicked off the Assembly, a prestigious gathering of policymakers and business leaders at the TNW Conference, with this very question. Our aim was to explore actionable solutions for tech policy development and discuss how to strike the right balance between regulation and innovation.
The panellists, including Christina Caljé, Quinten Selhorst, Michiel Scheffer and our own Policy Manager, Maxime Ricard, shared their thoughts on Europe’s tech potential, after which we gained some valuable insights from Pieter Waasdorp on the national technology strategy.
The event buzzed with engaging roundtable discussions encompassing:
- Technological competitiveness and regulatory challenges
- The (European) Single Market, fostering economic growth and cross-border scaling
- Public-private partnerships
- Charting paths and exiting your company in a fragmented market
Gary Shapiro wrapped up the day with a lively fireside chat, comparing how the US and Europe handle the complexities of today’s business environment.
A round of applause to all the speakers for their remarkable insights, and a huge shoutout to Lucien Burm and Javier Espinoza for their expert panel moderation. Finally, a big thank you to Yeni Joseph and the TNW team for pulling together such a successful event.
