Allied for Startups Announces Launch of Brussels Office; Hires Lenard Koschwitz

May 1, 2016

Melissa Blaustein, the founder of Allied for Startups, today announced at the Global Innovation Forum’s Global from the Get-Go event, the launch of the first Brussels based advocacy office exclusively for startups, and the hire of a Director for European Affairs, former Adviser to MEP Monika Hohlmeier, Lenard Koschwitz.

“There is no doubt that the European Union wants and needs to improve conditions for startups,” Blaustein said in a statement. “We feel that after general affirmations we need to get going to work on concrete results and to allow startups to grow in the EU. That’s why we’re so pleased to have Lenard on our team building out our office in Brussels. He knows the EU inside and out and brings experience working directly with policy makers on key issues impacting the digital single market. I am confident that with Lenard at the helm, we will make great strides on behalf of the startup community.”

The Allied for Startups office will be set up during the coming weeks and fully operational before legislative work resumes in September.

Inquiries may be sent to Melissa Blaustein or to the Director for European Affairs, Lenard Koschwitz, who will be heading the Brussels office.
